Your Sage accounting software is a desktop application designed to be installed on a Windows PC, and while Sage50 Cloud – Sage Drive – will let you sync your data with your colleague’s PCs, it doesn’t really give you that proper cloud ethos of working anywhere on any device. At Your Office Anywhere, we do things slightly differently.
We host your Sage software on our remote desktop servers, so you can access it from anywhere in the world. Not only that, but you can share it with all your colleagues no matter where they are, and one of the many benefits of this service is the ability to run your Sage application from within a web browser, and this demo video shows it in action. You simply go to a URL in the modern web browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Safari on a Mac, and then log-in securely to the client portal with your unique username and password.
The icon for Sage accounts is presented to you alongside other applications that you’ve asked us to install on your dedicated remote desktop server. After then logging in to the server itself, Sage starts and runs exactly as it would on your PC. So, here is Sage running in the Google Chrome web browser – it’s important to remember this isn’t a web-based version of Sage like you might get with Xero or QuickBooks or other accounting software – this is a full desktop version running on a Windows desktop just presented through a browser.
One of the benefits is running Sage on a hosted remote desktop is that you can integrate it with other applications, for example, Excel using the send-to-Excel feature. There could be any bespoke applications that is designed to work with Sage, we simply install it all on the remote desktop server. Files saved to the server could be instantly shared with your colleagues connected to the same server, the whole thing is supported and maintained by Your Office Anywhere’s technical team, so you don’t need any IT skills to use the platform.
We can also upgrade sage on the server as needed, and the great thing is you only need to do it once, not on every PC.
