We hit 1510 to be exact. The remote desktop license is the license we have to declare to Microsoft that allows us to provide a remote desktop (or hosted desktop license as it is also known) to our customers.
Some customers only have one license (as their system is just for one user) but other larger customers have almost 300 desktops running with us. This is a 20% increase in the number of licenses declared in 2012 and 43% increase in licenses declared in 2011 and at this number puts us very near the top of hosted desktop providers in terms of the number we provide on a monthly basis.
This number of licenses (according to our license manager at Insight who we declare our monthly license usage to) puts YourOfficeAnyWhere in the top 3 of remote desktop license providers out of 700+ IT providers who have signed up and are licensed to sell Microsoft licenses on a monthly basis.
This growth is also reflected by the number of servers that are now running on our platform which now exceeds 300 and storage used by our systems exceeds 20TB. To support our continued expansion we have invested in some additional EMC storage giving us further networked storage for both added resilience and growth at a cost of £50,000.00 again showing the continued investment in the platform to support our long term growth and future proofing the solution for our existing customers and new customers in the future.
YourOfficeAnyWhere differentiate themselves from lots of other providers in this market as we actually “own” the solution from the infrastructure (servers, switches, storage, firewalls etc) through to the guys who work on our helpdesk – we don’t sub contract these to a third party they actually work for YourOfficeAnyWhere. Lots of cloud providers utilise 3rd party companies who provide the infrastructure that they build the solution on however they don’t own or have control of this which leaves them exposed to the hardware companies support processes. We looked at this as an option but decided we wanted to be in control of everything from end to end and despite the large upfront costs associated with this objective, it is now paying dividends as we are being contacted by more and more customers disgruntled with their current provider for reasons outlined above.
