Android tablet connecting to a Windows Remote Desktop

Using your Android device to run any Windows application installed on a Hosted Desktop is simple. Watch this video to see how easy it is to use run the full desktop version of Sage 50 Accounts, or Sage Payroll, or Sage 200, on an Android tablet.

 This is a quick video to show how you can access any version of Sage accounts on a tablet using a hosted Remote Desktop service from Your Office Anywhere. The video shows Sage running on Android, that could equally be iPad Mac or Windows desktop. To access your remote applications, you first need to download the free Microsoft remote desktop client and Google Play or other app store. A couple of things to set up, it may be simpler to do them in this order:

First, enter the user account details given to you by Your Office Anywhere’s help desk. Now, in this example we’re going to use the remote source feed, so tap back at the main screen and then tap the plus symbol on the top right and select remote results feed. Use the little URL provided by Your Office Anywhere and choose the user account created earlier. The client then goes away to the internet and then discovers what application has been published to this user account. In this example we have Microsoft Office, Project and Sage published, but it could be any Windows application. Then simply tap on Sage to launch it.

The client logs into the Windows remote desktop server and then immediately starts Sage50. You can then select the required company and enter your Sage log-on details, and here is Sage running on your tablet. Remember Sage isn’t actually running on the tablet it is running on the hosted Windows desktop so it retains all the features and functionality you would expect and it’s not like a cut-down app that you would feel more familiar with on a tablet.
